Ally and Tim first met in Hoboken, New Jersey in 2016. Tim had gone to college with Charlie Boles, who was a longtime friend of Ally's from growing up in Chatham, New Jersey.

Tim moved in with not only Charlie, but two additional Chatham High friends - Jeff and Eric. He fit in immediately with the "Chatham Friend Group" and quickly became a staple for our early- and mid-twenties NYC crew.

Tim remembers his first time meeting Ally as a night she was designated driver, dropped Tim, Kelsey, and Kirsten off at a Hoboken bar, and went home early, as she loves to do.

Ally remembers walking into a party loudly claiming this was the year she was going to be single, and in response, Tim talked to her all night.

It is possible both stories are accurate.

After going on a few dates that first year, all thoughtfully planned out by Tim, Ally and Tim drifted back into simply being friends. After all, commuting from Hoboken to Princeton was, for a couple of 24-year-old's, the equivalent of a long distance relationship.

They continued to celebrate friends' birthdays, Friendsgiving's, and even travel together for getaway weekends with the Chatham/NYC crew, building a friendship over the years.

In 2021, Ally was moving back to NYC post-pandemic, and Tim was getting ready to leave NYC to move to Richmond (now that Ally has met all of Tim's Richmond friends, it is very clear why -- Richmond is a beautiful place with amazing people!). At Kelsey's annual Summer Harry Potter Party before his move, Tim made one last attempt at courting Ally. This was fairly easy since Ally and Tim were partnered on Team Gryffindor with Jeff and Meredith, who only had eyes for each other.

Ally and Tim navigated the difficulties of a long distance relationship for about a year, and Tim finally agreed to move to an overpriced townhouse with Ally in Charleston, SC, Ally's favorite city.

Five months later, they designed Ally's engagement ring at a jeweler in downtown Charleston, and three months after that, Tim proposed on a beach in the Florida Keys.

Ally and Tim enjoy spending time with Ally's dogs who have wholeheartedly adopted Tim as not only their father, but also their favorite human. They love spending weekends exploring Charleston, and frequently have friends visiting. They work out together, cook separately (to avoid a pre-marital spat), have very different opinions on the best way to clean a house, and love a quiet football Sunday at home. Tim has taught Ally to cook and equipped her with her very first spice rack. Ally has taught Tim that big, ugly, sectional sofas are not just for basements, and actually improve football Sundays immeasurably.

They continue to see friends from near and far, and enjoy trips to New Jersey to see Tim's family, and Florida to see Ally's parents.
